Description
This is the lesson where children become wizards of light and shadow.
They discover:
• Shadows form when light is blocked.
• Opaque materials make dark shadows; translucent ones only partially block light.
• Moving objects closer to the light makes shadows grow. Moving them away makes shadows shrink.
In Session 12, pupils first protect a “Vampire” from the sun using shields — learning to choose opaque materials.
Then they become beams themselves, navigating a “Ray of Light” robot walk:
• Blindfolded students move straight ahead
• Obstacles absorb or transmit light
• Teamwork ensures the beam reaches the target
Finally comes the Monster Shadows investigation:
• Torches, puppets, and walls turn students into shadow scientists
• They measure shadow height at different distances
• They predict, record, and analyse results
Children leave knowing:
Close → Giant Shadows.
Far → Tiny Shadows.
Structured. Interactive. Unforgettable.
📥 Ready to buy. Ready to teach. Ready to play with shadows.
